The Effects Of Plastics On Our Ocean Environment With Michelle Meissen

June 9, 2022 @ 2:00 pm

Please join Michelle Meissen with the Palmetto Ocean Conservancy, a local, community based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the marine world from marine debris. Marine debris is not an Ocean problem … it is a People problem. Palmetto Ocean Conservancy has been building the tools, and partnering with organizations that teach, inspire, and preserve the ocean, our marine life, ecosystems, and our lives.

Michelle travels to schools and companies in local communities to expand education on ocean conservation, including recycling, organizing beach clean ups and community events to encourage an eco-friendly lifestyle.  It takes people working together from individuals to businesses to change products, practices and behaviors that lead to ocean trash.

The program is free, and All are welcome.  The presentation will be “kid friendly” and Michelle will be joined by two of her children.  Since school is out for the summer, we welcome your children to join us for them to learn what they can do to protect our sea life from marine debris. For those entering outside the back gate of Haig Point, see signs to enter on the left.  For more information, please contact Cathy Andrews at cathyandrews@bellsouth.net.
